The Carter Legacy Singers, Administrator
The Carter Legacy Singers (CLS) is a community-based performance ensemble named in honor of the late Dr. Nathan M. Carter. Dr. Carter’s eminence as a Choral Conductor was echoed throughout the United States and the World as he brought worldwide recognition to the Morgan State University Department of Music where he served for over 30 years. His mastery of music and standard of excellence live on in the many students who sat at the feet of his brilliance, with particular emphasis around the study and preservation of the Negro Spiritual. CLS as an ensemble, boasts membership of over 100 throughout communities across the nation, with a traveling group of approximately 40 singers. Sought-after for our preservation of the melodies and rhythms of the past, we present first-class music with a standard of excellence that serves to mentor and coach young artists, uplift those we touch, and renew a passion and commitment to justice, equality, and preservation of history.
Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
Greater Baltimore County, MD Chapter
Jack and Jill of America, Inc., is a membership organization of mothers with children ages 2 – 19, dedicated to nurturing future African American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty. Jack and Jill boasts more than 230 chapters nationwide, representing more than 40,000 family members. Each chapter plans annual programming activities guided under a national theme. Through service projects, Jack and Jill of America creates a medium of contact for children to stimulate their growth and development.

Sigma Alpha Iota is an organization which promotes interaction among those who share a commitment to music. Members of SAI are active in all areas of music and campus life, working closely with faculty, administration, and campus groups. Alumnae members are teachers, performers, professionals, and patrons of local and national arts organizations. In addition to personal encouragement and support, members may receive scholarships, grants, and awards in many areas of music-related study. Sigma Alpha Iota has long been recognized as a leader in the field of music.
